The new branding for this website and business all include a cute aqua wolf pup, and so naturally I felt I wanted to crochet a plushie of it. I’ve decided it’ll be my sort of brand mascot, and I’ve named them Will the Wolf Pup!

There have been multiple versions I’ve made so far as I work out the pattern. The first one had a wide, football-shaped head and rounded ears, and was actually worked sideways. I tried to do colourwork to make the markings on the head, and I wasn’t very happy with how the back of the head turned out.
So I worked up a new head for Will and unpicked the neck stitches so I could stitch it onto the same body, to save some time and effort. I like the colourwork a lot more on this one, but it doesn’t feel like it captures the face perfectly yet.

Another reason for continuing to work on the design is that I actually forgot to write down anything the first go around. I just crocheted freeform, so I could work quicker, but the results are that I don’t have a written pattern. So what I’m doing now is typing up a concept for a pattern that I’m then going to follow and adjust as needed.
I’m making some small changes to the design of the body, legs, and tail as well as the head, so I’m going to rework the whole thing from scratch.
Would you have any interest in the pattern if I released it as a PDF? Let me know in the comments!
